At Woofs for William, our mission is to empower children living with Type 1 diabetes by providing them with specially trained diabetic alert dogs (DADs). We are dedicated to improving the quality of life for these children and their families by offering a loyal companion that can detect and alert to dangerous blood sugar levels.
Through our nonprofit, we aim to foster independence, enhance safety, and offer emotional support, ensuring that children with Type 1 diabetes have the opportunity to live a healthier, happier life.

365 days of courage, carbs, and counting.
Three-year-old William has bravely battled his first year with Type 1 diabetes with the heart of a superhero. Every day, he faces finger pricks and insulin with a smile, showing strength far beyond his years.

Diabetic alert dogs (DADs) are life-saving companions for children with Type 1 diabetes, trained to detect dangerous changes in blood sugar levels before they become emergencies. These dogs provide a layer of safety, especially during sleep or play, when symptoms might go unnoticed. Donations help fund the training and placement of these incredible dogs, giving families peace of mind and children a chance to live safer, more confident lives.
Every brave kid with Type 1 needs a village—be part of theirs.
Children with Type 1 diabetes face a daily routine filled with blood sugar checks, adminstration of insulin, and careful monitoring of everything they eat and do. It’s a constant balancing act that requires courage, responsibility, and support—often far beyond their years. This relentless schedule can be exhausting and overwhelming, not just for the child, but for their whole family. Donations help provide critical tools, resources, and trained diabetic alert dogs that make life safer and a little easier for these brave kids.
